Some statue, Riga – 23 viewsLooks like an interesting statue, not sure what it was all about though. Interesting tram and bus in the foreground too, artistic photo.

Lith girls in Lat – 84 viewsVirginija and Laima in Riga

Riga's main river the 'Daugava' – 85 viewsNot sure what the buildings in the background are but the river is quite large.

Walkway - Riga – 29 viewsI like photos like this. A nice shot I think, not a bad place for a picnic lunch either.

Lielais Kristaps - Riga. – 34 viewsOnce upon a time, long ago, before the city of Riga was founded, a tall strong man named Lielais Kristaps (Big Christopher) carried people across the river Daugava. Kristaps lived in a cabin on right bank of the river.

Freedom Statue – 20 viewsThe Travel Centre from a distance.
IMG_1910.JPG
Travel Agency – 31 viewsLatvian guards marching in front of the 'Travel Agency'. The 'Freedom Statue' is very tall (my photo skills show that) and during Soviet times if you placed flowers at the base of the Freedom Statue you were given a free trip to Siberia, hence the locals dubbed it the 'Travel Agency'.

Some church, somewhere. Riga - Latvia – 26 viewsReally tall spire. Think the church on this site dates from the 1300's. Mostly they are never original buildings entirely however due to fires and rebuilding.

Some church, Somewhere – 24 viewsI saw a lot of churches. This one is also very tall, and I need a bigger camera lense I think. Unfortunately it was closed so our group of 3 sat down in a 'Double Coffee' shop to have a cappucino.
IMG_1922.JPG
Old town - Riga – 43 viewsI'm standing unusually because I have this very heavy backpack on, and I have been carrying around the thing for the entire day.
IMG_1923.JPG
Main square, old town Riga – 32 viewsJust love the history with old towns, in Australia you have the rocks in Sydney but no buildings that have been stading for 500 years or more.
IMG_1929.JPG
Pretty buildings – 30 viewsA lot of effort is put into making the old town buildings look as nice as possible.
